Family Traditions

After Abby's baptism, she received some pretty special gifts. We gave her new scriptures which she was so excited about. She has already started reading Esther (her favorite Bible story). She also got a nice picture from her Aunt Holly and Uncle Jared as well as a CTR bracelet from Grandma and Grandpa Reed. But the gift she couldn't wait for was her "comforter" from Grandma and Grandpa Kinghorn. Grandma has a tradition of taking the kids when they turn 8 to pick out material from which she makes them a blanket referred to as their "comforter" to help remind them of the Holy Ghost. Abby picked out purple fairies with a purple fleece back. She didn't put it down all day. Thanks Grandma for a wonderful tradition!

A Very Special Day!

Well, my blog is finally up and running (thanks to the one and only Caroline Andersen) and what better way to start than with Abby's baptism. She was baptized last Saturday, March 28, 2009. It was a perfect day. She was baptized and confirmed by her dad and there were lots of family and friends there to support her. She looked so beautiful in her white dress. Our friends from Jerome gave her a beautiful necklace and bracelet that matched perfectly. She was really nervous but seemed to calm right down when it was her turn to be baptized. I really think she understood the importance of the step she was taking. She has matured so much in the last three months. We are so proud of her and the choices she has made. We love you Abbs!
