The rain has finally stopped and the sun is shining. We took the chance to get out and have some fun this week. First we went to the drive in. We try to squeeze at least one in a year. Layne had been working evenings on a remodel job, but we managed to pull him away one night and went to see Up! We filled the giant popcorn bowl, (which was gone in the first 15 min.), put everyone in their pj's, and headed out on a gorgeous night. The kids loved the movie. We thought it was pretty cute. We don't fit well in the back of the suburban any more, though. I was amazed that everyone stayed awake for the movie, even Jake. Despite the discomfort some of us may go through to sit for that long (Layne), it is worth it to have something the kids look forward to and will hopefully remember for years to come.
