Swim, Swim, Swim

Abby with her swim teacher - my uncle Randy!

Abby jumping off the diving board. You'd never guess we used to have to bribe her to do this.

Abby posing while she waits her turn at the diving board.

Kayci entertained herself by playing outside on the rocks. By the end of the week she had recruited a whole little group of friends to play with her.

Karlee (and her shiner) waiting for her turn at the diving board.

Andy and Karlee. I hope they'll always be best buds.

Jake being a big boy and coloring his very own Harry Potter picture.

Karlee and Andy with their swim teacher David.

The girls blowing out the candles on their cupcakes for Andy's birthday!

The whole gang wishing Andy a happy birthday.

The girls had two hours of lessons that were separated by an hour, so during the break everyone ate their snacks and colored at the picnic table inside the pool.

The cute swim babes all ready to head in to the pool.

Andy, Abby, and Karlee - master swimmers!

Jaked zonked out in the pool. He probably slept for an hour or more.

Last week was our annual swim lesson trip to Green Canyon. Usually we camp out for the week with my sister Holly and my niece Andy, but because her twins were still so new we decided against camping this year and just drove up everyday. It made for a very early morning, but it really wasn't that bad. The girls had a great week. Abby was nervous about passing level 3 of which she was only able to do half of last year. She was supposed to be able to swim the width of the pool on her front and back, but only made it half way last year. This year she more than surpassed her goal of swimming across. In fact, she passed level 3 and 4. To pass 4 she had to do two laps on front and back. She did awesome. I had no idea she could do that. I am so proud of her. Karlee and Andy also did really well. By the end of lessons next year they'll be able to swim half way across if not more.
It also just happened that it was Andy's birthday while we were at lessons, so on Thursday Jared, Layne, and Heidi came up for part of the day and we had lunch for Andy's birthday and then we all went swimming afterward (except Holly and the babies). The kids had a blast. On Friday Layne came up again for part of the day and we let the kids swim one more time to finish off the week. Jake even fell asleep in the pool. That night we all went to Leo's for cake and ice cream and to play for Andy's birthday. It was a full week with lots of fun activities. We are already looking forward to next year.
